Department of English Translation and Interpreting
The Department of English Translation and Interpreting aims to train competent translators and interpreters equipped with universal values for our country. With distinguished translators who have made a name in the field, esteemed academic staff within our Department, the Andaş Translation Laboratory equipped with all kinds of technical and technological facilities in line with ISO standards, a contemporary education program shaped by the Bologna Process, and the Erasmus Student Exchange Program, the Department of English Translation and Interpreting at Çankaya University has been successfully carrying out its activities since 2006.
With its experienced academic staff, comprehensive educational perspective and infrastructure, Double Major and Minor programs, and student exchange opportunities with European universities within the scope of the Erasmus program, the Department has quickly become one of the most prominent departments in the field. Within the scope of University Elective Courses outside the Department, our students can also take foreign language courses to improve their skills in additional languages.
Our Department trains qualified translators and interpreters for official institutions (such as the Ministries of National Education, Foreign Affairs, and Culture and Tourism; the Undersecretariat of Treasury and Foreign Trade; TRT; banks and other private sector institutions) and private organizations, in order to meet the demand for translators required in Turkey’s political, economic, socio-cultural, and scientific relations with the European Union and the world.
