Our fourth-year interpreting students, Aleyna Nur Demirci and Arda Anadolu, took part as interpreters at the Accessible Films Festival held at Goethe-Institut Ankara between 24–30 April, under the supervision of Dr. Lecturer Minel Sayar Öztürk within the scope of the Conference Interpreting course.
Following the short film competition screenings organized as part of the festival, the students and the course instructor actively performed consecutive interpreting on stage during the director Q&A sessions. Through this experience, the students gained their first professional interpreting experience in a real event environment prior to graduation, while also having the opportunity to observe interpreting processes firsthand.
This experience enabled the students to put the knowledge and skills they acquired in the classroom into practice and provided valuable field experience contributing to the development of their conference interpreting competencies.
